What is asciimation?

asciimation is the name coined by Simon Jansen for his renowned project, an animated version of Star Wars. In fact his asciimation, or ASCII animation, is part of a web tradition of animations created using only the standard ASCII character set.

Chickenman is my attempt at a cartoon asciimated in the same way. Or rather, in a better way: using the fantastic JavE editor by Markus Gebhard, which has a built in Movie Editor, amongst other handy features.

It features a superhero called Chickenman, and his trusty sidekick, Red Ted. It is not in any way related to the 60s radio character of the same name (who I discovered later), or the alcoholic comic character of the same name (ditto). I think that the world can cope with a third superhero (it's a big world), though I'll wait to hear if the other Chickenmen's lawyer's agree.

I'm planning to release a new episode every week or so to start off with.
